QDJ 2, 5, & 6 on page 75 and 1, 2, & 3 on page 205

Murray says “We are autobiographical in the way we write; my autobiography in the examples of writing I use in this piece and in the text I weave around them”. So I think what he is saying is that an autobiography is any way that we write about ourselves. Murray’s ideas make me think about how I right. He says that writing an autobiography is his way of making meaning of the life that he has lead and is leading and will lead. I would not necessarily write much different than I do now after reading this but I do realize that anything that I write about myself may be considered an autobiography. The last few texts that I have written were for school purposes. The very last one that I wrote was most definitely an autobiography. It was all about me and how I learned to read growing up and through out my school life.

People writing without good reason are not the same as people writing because they want to. They will not love what they are writing and they are simply making sentence structures with correct grammar. I do agree with what this says. I think that it basically means that if you are being forced to write, it will not come out the same as if you want to write because when you are being forced, you do not love what you are writing so your sentences and structures will not be put to meaningful purposes. I think that Strasser has the right to think anything he wants, and if he thinks that school assigned writing only accomplishes meaningless writing then he has a right to think that. I also agree with this somewhat. This can apply to almost anything, not just writing. If you are made, or forced to do something, you aren’t going to do it as well as if you actually wanted to do it. I do not think that school creates a separation of the mind, body, and spirit.
