1. There aren't really any rules that interfere for me when I get writer's block. I usually get it when my mind travels and I start thinking about other things unrelated to what I am writing about.
2. The blockers were following rules such as "you need to always grab the readers attention immediately". The non-blockers have different rules like "always keep the audience in mind" and that they can use as many ideas in their thesis that they want.
4. Some rules are good for a writer and some rules can be bad for a writer. My rule is "always stay on topic and don't let your mind wander and start writing off topic".

"Sommers" QDJ 1, 3, 5, & 7
1. Sommers states that revising's primary objective is finding the form or shape of the argument. In other words - finding a "frame work, a pattern, or design".
3. In my own words I think that the difference between speech and writing is that when you are speaking about something it is coming out right off the top of your brain and not very much thinking is done. When you are writing about something, you have some time to brainstorm and think about what you are going to write about.
5. I think that Sommers is trying to say something like - writers don't have a certain set pattern in their writing. I think that she means writing should be done from what you think about and you should no have some straight line process from beginning to end and that experienced writers write this way.
7. I think that students got the idea from all of their English teachers that they have had growing up. It does match the way I have been taught about writing and revising.

"Writing Process of a Famous Author"
The famous author’s writing style that I am going to choose
is Ted Dekker. He’s a famous author that has written more than twenty novels
and is still going. He is mainly known for his stories such as suspense,
thrillers and major twists and turns. In my opinion, he is one of the greatest
authors I have ever read a novel from. He born into a missionary family in
Indonesia, so he spent a lot of his child hood without his parents there
because they were off working. That forced him to start using his imagination
to entertain himself because he was so lonely and by himself. He left Indonesia
and got a permanent residence in the United States.
When he grew up he went to college and got a bachelors
degree in philosophy and religion. After that he entered the corporate business
world selling businesses, healthcare, and marketing. Eventually he got tired of
all of this and decided to pursue his dream of being a novel author and started
on his first novel. Ted writes not only to entertain, but to discover and he writes
in such a way that his readers may discover with him. He says “my motivation is
– Everything I have written up to this point is crap and now I am about to
write the real thing.” I think that is a pretty good motivational technique
because if you motivate yourself that way, then your next writing will always
be better than your last one and you get better and better each time. Ted Dekker
is one of my favorite authors and I will never forget some of the stories that I
have read from him. These are just a few of his writing techniques and a little
bit about him and how he grew up.

"Prior" QDJ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 7
I think that it would be useful to research and learn how other people including myself write because it could actually help me and the way that i write. It may help me write better to where people could understand what i am writing about better.
My list of the writing process is, first brainstorming and thinking. Then second, writing and composing. Then third, rereading and revising and thinking and planning.
Composition is like the actual act of coming up ip with what you are about to write and it is similar to brainstorming and thinking while inscription is the act of writing text onto or into something. some tools for inscription are pens and brushes or presses or computers.
It is important to distinguish the three types of authorship because they are three different things.
The Animator actually says or sites the words, the Author selects the sentiments and word, and the principle is the position being represented in the words.
He means that in order to do one thing that you must do another thing first. My favorite is naturalistic.

"Review of Literacy Narrative"
I think I did a good job on the narrative that I wrote. I
would have to say that it is not one of my best but I did okay on it. If I had
another chance on it, I would definitely make a few changes though. I would put
in a lot more descriptive words. I didn’t use many descriptive words, though I
should have because that was part of the assignment. I would try to make it
more organized and structured to fit the style I was using to write the paper.
I used the chronological order style, going from when I was in preschool all
the way up until now, and everything in between. I have learned a lot of things
since I was in preschool but even now I still have lots to learn about reading
and writing. I am not done yet. I would not change the writing style that I used
because I like the way that I did it the first time. It was simple and not
complicated and an easy writing style to read and understand, as well as write.
I think that I did pretty well on my first paper but there are still a few
changes that I would probably make to the paper if I had a second chance on it.
I would proof read it to make sure there were no mistakes and I would let a
couple of my friends proof read it also to double make sure that I have
everything down correctly. Once that is done I would turn it in and hopefully
get a good grade.

QDJ 2, 5, & 6 on page 75 and 1, 2, & 3 on page 205
Murray says “We are
autobiographical in the way we write; my autobiography in the examples of
writing I use in this piece and in the text I weave around them”. So I think
what he is saying is that an autobiography is any way that we write about
ourselves. Murray’s ideas make me think about how I right. He says that writing
an autobiography is his way of making meaning of the life that he has lead and
is leading and will lead. I would not necessarily write much different than I
do now after reading this but I do realize that anything that I write about
myself may be considered an autobiography. The last few texts that I have
written were for school purposes. The very last one that I wrote was most
definitely an autobiography. It was all about me and how I learned to read
growing up and through out my school life.

Childhood Reading
My favorite book when I was a child was called “Where the
Red Fern Grows”. It is a book about a boy that loves to hunt but he does not
have any dogs that he can hunt with. He decides to save up all of his money,
penny by penny. It takes him a long time but he finally does it. The dogs were
being sold in another town a little ways from where he lived so one night he
snuck out of his house and walked all the way there. The next day he returned
with the dogs and his parents were very surprised. He grew up with those dogs
and took them hunting and got very talented. The dogs became just like family
to him and his family. They also became the best hunting dogs in town.
Eventually the dogs grew old and died and the boy was so heartbroken. He loved
his dogs so much. He buried them by a tree in his yard and after a few weeks a
red fern started growing in the place that they were buried. The boy loved this
red fern and took it as a sign from God that the dogs were okay.
This book had a great impact on me and it was a big literary
sponsor. I definitely read it more than three times. The first time that I had
read it was in school. My teacher had assigned it to my class in the third
grade. Ever since then I fell in love with that book and it instantly became my
favorite. I would always think about it and I got sad when I had finished
reading it. I don’t know why I liked that book so much. Maybe it related to me
in some way when I was at that age. All I know is that was my favorite book of
all time and still is.
